In my life I’ve had the opportunity to climb mountains, canoe through the wilds of northern Minnesota, run half marathons, and travel through Europe. Whenever my wife and I meet new people she always introduces me as Greg her lumberjack. She depicts me as some sort of adventure enthusiast living life on the edge. To be perfectly honest I am closer to Clark Griswold than Christopher McCandless when it comes to adventure. The misperception of my adventures comes from the fact that I keep good company.
What I have learned about adventure is that when you have a closely connected group of individuals you are able to accomplish so much more than you might on your own. Whether I’ve been cruising the country in a Ford Focus on a quest to climb mountains, spending my 21st birthday in the back country, or riding bike in Munich; good people push you to explore more than you will on your own.
So what does my gallivanting have to do with running?
In my experiences at the store I often find people saying to me, “how do I get started running?”
At 605 Running Company we have the answer to this question. Join us this Wednesday for our Couch to 5K program at Fawick Park 6pm. You can meet other runners starting out and build the type of relationships that get you doing things you never dreamed of. When you run with others you go further and faster than you would on your own. I am living, breathing proof of this because I have experienced a dramatic increase in my abilities by participating in our group runs at 605 Running Company.
