 For us in Sioux Falls this is the most wonderful time of year. It is marathon week and we’ve got so much going on I thought it would be great to create a blog post to lay out what to expect from your local running speciality outfitter. Blog Posts: We’ve got a lot of great content coming out this week. Jacqueline is working on a series about the elite athletes coming to town to run on our wonderful city streets. Be sure to check daily for new posts. You can also expect Coach Watley will have some last minute race tips for you as well. Group Runs and Events: We are currently taking cash donations for the American Red Cross and their Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. In addition to our regularly scheduled group runs we have two extra special events happening this week. Thursday evening we will have a Beer Run and Chat with local legends of the fall; Kristen Johnston, Lisa Fligge, Owen Hotvet and Rob Sevold, emceed by Jacqueline Palfy. The group run will start at the store at 6:05pm and the chat with our distinguished panel will start at 7pm at Woodgrain Brewing Company (you do not have to run to participate in the group chat). On Saturday at 9am our Pace Team will be out in force at the shop for a paced group run. We’ve got a 5 mile loop and we will have pacers from run/walk to 7:30 pace. Get that shakeout run done with the 605 pace team. Marathon Week Sale: We’ve got a great sale going on all week at the store. We’ve got our largest expo booth ever and have big plans. Coach Watley and our friends from Active Spine will be doing a fundraiser for the Children's Home Society - get a running analysis for $25 at the expo - all proceeds go to CHS! We will also have exclusive deals and merchandise at our booth from apparel, nutrition, accessories and shoes. You won’t want to miss out on this one day event. The best part is even if you are not registered to run the race you can still come and shop our booth at the Premier Center! This week is a huge deal for our great city. We are so lucky to have a full and half marathon supported by the city at large. This is a sporting event that puts heads on beds and promotes all of the great things our fair city has to offer. I highly encourage everyone to run, cheer, volunteer or support this event in any way you can. It is my belief that as our city grows this event can be a highlight event that makes our community proud year-after-year.
